394 DO YOU KNOW JESUS, OR JUST KNOW ABOUT HIM?

Matthew 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

There is a difference between knowing Jesus and knowing about Him.

Those who know Him, believe Him because they really know WHO He is.

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Those who know about Jesus do not necessarily believe Him. They can talk about what they have heard, what they have read, and what they think, about Jesus but cannot explain His personality. That takes a personal knowledge to understand.

Those who know Jesus do not need an image, object or picture to carry around or go to, to show or be near Jesus. They have Him in the innermost parts of their heart and His presence around them ALL the time.

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Most people cannot understand how Jesus could be in Heaven with His father and still be here with us.

Think about it, in your imagination, you can be in that sexy girl’s pants, be behind the wheel of a supped-up ’57 Chey, or on a beach in Miami, drinking ice-cold shots and getting a massage from the local hotties. Your mind can go anywhere you WANT it to be.

Jesus’ mind WANTS to be here with us because He loves US.

We have to work hard to get in that hot girl’s pants. (Even though we find they are too tight because she is smaller than we are.) We have to spend a bundle for that supped-up ’57 Chey so people can see us inside and envy us and we can go to the beach in Miami. We can make our desired imagination real, if we want to pay the price.

Jesus paid the price for us and has every right to be with those He loves because they love Him back and He has all the physical abilities of God to do it.

There are those who do great things in Jesus’ name but are not His.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Prophesying, casting out devils, and wonderful works are all scriptural and good works but they are not what Jesus is looking for.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Jesus is looking for those who love Him enough to KNOW Him and He will Know them.

1Corinthians 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Jesus described those He loved, His sheep.

Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Matthew 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

He also described those He did not know, the goats.

Matthew 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

Matthew 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Matthew 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Its not good works you do in Jesus name that shows God’s love in you, its God’s love in you that produces good works of obedience. Everyone wants to heal the sick, raise the dead, and move mountains, but who wants to pick up a hitchhiker, feed a homeless drug-addict, help an underage hooker, or befriend a derelict?

Would you recognize the image of God in the worst human garbage if it were standing in front of you? Jesus’ sheep would.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

The goats would not see the image of God in humanity and would pass them by.

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

The goats split churches, cause Jesus and His saints shame, speak negatively about good things and people, discourage the weak, avoid the sickly, cause dissatisfaction and want, overindulge and undersupply, associate with God’s enemies, and disassociate with Jesus’ friends.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
