Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

God is God because He has to be. He IS God and cannot change. These are facts to God and for us.

Man wants to be the supreme ruler of himself and this world but that is God’s position. Man wants to reject, replace or eliminate God so we can take over. No one has told us that the devil is trying to do that very thing and is using US to attempt it.

I have a few questions for you. Just who do you think YOU are? And, who do you think God is?

We want to be the supreme being but haven’t the skill or the intelligence to handle the job. Each person has their idea of how this world should be run and want to control it so we can run it OUR way.

Now, we have 7 billion people with 7 billion ideas about running the world and none of them would work because it would be OUR way.

God is the only one who can run this world and do it right.

Hebrews 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

We would like to rule and have everyone tremble at our commands and jump quickly to obey them. We think this would make us happy.

God has this power but it does not make Him happy. Being God is a great responsibility and a great deal of work and heartache.

He must keep everything alive and stable in spite of us. He must put up with our constant whining and complaining and restrain Himself when we live a wicked and sinful life before His eyes.

Psalm 10:3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

Psalm 10:11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

BUT; that is not the biggest reason we could not be God. The biggest reason is we could not THINK like God on our own.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

You see, God does not think about being God, mastering us or being high and mighty.

God spends His time trying to get our attention, befriend us and wishing we would befriend Him. All day, every day, God is watching what we do, why we do it and how He can fit into our lives.

True, He will not take second best but that is because second best will fail. He knows that for us to be His friend, we must give Him our all. That is the only way we can succeed and truly be His friend.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

God is not hindered by a need for pleasure, food, comfort, ego boast or admiring attention. He is God and is better than these things but He watches as we are troubled by our egos, personalities and looks.

God’s world is a spirit world where the physical is just a means of knowing where someone’s spirit is. The spirit is what is important to God and what we do with ours is what He is most concerned with.

He gave us the spirit of life so we could be His friends and we could find pleasure in serving each other.

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

You are the apple of God’s eye and could have His complete attention, if you would only WANT it.

1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The day will come when those who wish to always be with God, will always be with God because He will always want to be with us who love Him.
