Egypt in Crisis 2013

Egyptians wanted to remove a dictatorship but Mursi thought differently. He acted as if all he had to do was win one election and then he could be Grande Caliph for life. Another Mubarak, but with a Muslim emphasis. It is no surprise that the Egyptian people didn't buy it.

What the Muslim Brotherhood needs to realize is that Egypt is a land of many differing viewpoints and the only leader people will give carte blanche to is God Himself *. Egyptians are not children anymore. The Brotherhood should realize they are not the only Egyptians nor are they the only Muslims  in Egypt and the country will continue to have its differing viewpoints.

If you choose to impose your views on other Egyptians then you and your children will have a lifetime of strife and misery.

By all means defend your rights and family but allow other Egyptians to do the same.

In earthly government Egyptians are looking for a steward. A man or council who will sort out the economic mess, put people to work quickly, enabling Egyptians to feed their families.

They are not looking for someone who will teach them how to obey.

At the same time the army should use some self restraint: shooting teargas is understandable but shooting unarmed protesters to death (from any group) is not ethical. If teargas is insufficient then buy some tranquilizer guns. You will likely need them.

Egypt is a land of rich soil and abundant water supplies . There is no reason anyone should go hungry. I encourage people to start planting crops. In the garden, on the rooftop, on the banks of the Nile or on the window sill. It will be a while before people come to their senses and you will need to eat in the meantime.

And I pray that the next election will produce a council and steward who will bring prosperity and benevolent order to Egypt.

* I think it is fair to say that about 98 percent of Egyptians believe in a Creator. Whether Muslim or Christian or other God fearing follower.

"Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him" (Deuteronomy 4:35).
