God's will...

I wasn't sure where to put this topic so, I just went with this. It's been a while because I've been super busy and working a lot. I hope everyone is well. Smile

Anyway...I was looking through my devotionals and came across this particular statement today...

"There is joy and peace in the will of God. And when you are outside the will of God, there is misery and turmoil. The most miserable man or woman is the one who knows what is right and does not do it. He or she is even more miserable than a nonbeliever who has never heard the truth of the Word of God. When you know what is right and are running away from it, your life will be especially hard."

I spent 11 yrs. working in a nursing home kitchen and I had to leave for a yr. due to circumstances beyond my control. I almost didn't return but, I felt as though God was speaking directly to me and informing me that I would be returning because I belonged there and they needed me. If I hadn't followed God's will and gone where He sent me...I'd have been unemployed twice. We may not always understand why things are happening the way they are in our lives but, God doesn't call us to understand. Only to follow. We can't see what lies ahead but, He can. I was miserable every day because I wasn't doing what He wanted me to do. What I was designed to do. I was in a temporary place and simply functioning until it was time for me to return to the place I was meant to be. How often in your lives are you out of God's will? Sometimes the Lord removes us from situations until things change or improve. During those times, we can't lose heart. We have to just hang on and remain in faith and prayer. Not every day will be perfect or even close but, God can and will fill us with joy and guide us in the right direction if we let Him. He will be a lamp unto our feet.
