Dont stop, butter is not formed yet

James 1:2-4. “…testing of your faith”. The trials are for the TESTING of faith. The trials are not to man but to faith. Faith comes as a gift but patience is not. Churning faith produces patience. There are many who have faith but no patience that is the reason why they are not mature yet though they are well advanced in years. There are many who become like Jesus. That is a good thing, but the moment they become like Jesus, their neighbors appear as Pharisees, Sadducees and Teachers of the law. So their teachings start with, “you hypocrites”. Let us not see every one as a hypocrite. Let us have patience.

God is not unjust.

Elihu, one of Job’s friends said, “It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice.” Job 34:12. God was angry with Job’s friends except this particular friend Elihu. You can take his words.

 He doesn’t do it willingly

“For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men” Lam. 3:33. Then why he brings affliction if he is not doing it willingly? It is because to make us full, complete or perfect. Even Jesus was perfected by sufferings. “…it was fitting that God… should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.” Heb. 2:10

 He had a purpose

Job said this in 23:10, “when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” Peter borrows the same idea for the faith. “These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” 1 Pet. 1:7. His intention is you, you might share his honor and glory.

This is a need. “you may have had to” 1 Pet. 1:6.
