Sing a song of celebration lift up your voice and sing...

Pamela was someone I worked with for awhile. She had worked for the company for a long time in many areas and was well known, but not necessarily for her hard work. When the conversation turned to spiritual things, Pamela would say things like, "I have been needing to get back to church, but can't seem to find the right church." It seemed that she knew what she should do, but just couldn't seem to find the time to do it. Pamela is like many of us... She also had several children and was very involved in their lives. She loved to tell what each one was doing and the advice she had given them in each instance.

The other day, Pamela's son who had started a new business with several of his friends were out promoting the business at a friend's party. A gang of kids arrived and words were spoken between some of them. Pamela's son, Denny was hit and killed by a stray bullet. Now Pamela had raised her children in church, but she wasn't sure that Denny had ever accepted Christ and that weighed heavily on her heart. But tonight she told me about a friend of her son's who was present when he prayed and asked Jesus into his heart about a week before this incident. Tonight Pamela recounted over and over instances where God had intervened and taken care of hospital bills that were insurmountable since her insurance had been accidentally cancelled, her son's funeral expenses had been covered by donations from people at work, there were 400 people that showed up for her son's funeral and she recounted over and again the importance of accepting Jesus in your heart since no one knows the hour when it might be your last chance. She recounted over and over again how God has blessed her and many others who were led to Jesus during the funeral service which became a praise service for all the Jesus did by dying on the cross. Seeing Pamela with the joy of the Lord on her face and the words of praise on her lips for all the ways that God is blessing through this experience brought joy to my heart and praises to my lips. Although the names I chose for this story were ficticious, the experience was real and my friend who I hadn't seen since her son died was all but shouting and praising God tonight. I told her I would continue to lift her up in prayer and ask that you would join me. Love you all~~Debby

About: I am originally from Texas but moved here to Southern California about 18 years ago to be near family for help in raising my children. I worked as a nurse in a local hospital in this area until retiring a year ago. My children are all grown, but still are a joy and then there are the grandchildren who are a joy also. Now I am continuing to venture forth with God as my guide. I chose my screen name because my name comes from Hebrew and means "a bee". My middle name, Kay, comes from Greek and means "exultant or rejoicing". So to me my name means, "One who seeks only the sweet (the Lord) in life with rejoicing". I believe and claim scriptural motivations for my name in the verses of Ezekial 3:3, Proverbs 16:21, and Psalms 19 I had a personal ministry within nursing which God placed me in years ago and now am seeking where He is taking me. The scripture He gave me years ago regarding my ministry is in Isaiah 40:1 "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, Saith the Lord your God." Through His assistance, He works to do just that with the people I serve. My prayer is that all would come to have a supernatural experience with Jesus, to meet Him, accept Him into their lives and have a special relationship with Him forever. I just love a big family!!
