Thinking of the Lost
Authored by boomervet on Sun, Jun 26 2005 - 08:24 PM
I am here at church preparing for Discipleship Training and the Evening Service and all that keeps going through my mind is the thought that this could be the last time time we are together before Jesus comes for His church, Am I ready? Is my life clean? Each moment should be lived with the thought that it could be our last before we see Jesus ...Read Blog »
He Never Fails You!
Authored by boomervet on Sun, Jun 26 2005 - 12:31 AM
This morning was another morning that God proved His faithfulness to me. My heart goes out to those who do not believe in God. To go through life without knowing Him or His love, would be a terrible way to live.I will write more later, but for now I just wanted to praise Him and let the world know how much I love Him.Can I get a witness?Until ...Read Blog »
Struggles in Life
Authored by boomervet on Sat, Jun 25 2005 - 11:03 AM
Struggles in life; we all have them. No one is exempt. But for the believer in Christ, we have Someone to walk through the struggle with us. James tells us in James 1:2-3, Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. The Greek word for "joy" is chara and ...Read Blog »
What about the topic of Sin
Authored by boomervet on Fri, Jun 24 2005 - 10:21 AM
I read several different devotionals each day to help get my day started with my eyes focused on God. One of those devotionals is My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. In yesterday's devotional reading, Dr. Chambers states, "We have to recognize that sin is a fact, not a defect; sin is red-handed mutiny againsy God. Either God or sin ...Read Blog »
Another Day to Live For Him!
Authored by boomervet on Thu, Jun 23 2005 - 10:05 AM
Last night we had a geat time in Bible study. As I stated in a previous blog we are doing a verse-by-verse study of the book of Daniel. It has been exciting to see how God, through Daniel, spoke to His people about their future and then to see through the records of history how much of it has come to pass. There is still more prophecy to be ...Read Blog »
There is an Urgency!
Authored by boomervet on Wed, Jun 22 2005 - 10:51 AM
Yesterday while driving to the bookstore, I was listening to Al Mohler on the radio addressing the issue of "The Urgency of Preaching." He made a statement that made me pull off the road and think about. He said, "Reflecting poetically on the urgency and centrality of preaching, the Puritan pastor Richard Baxter once remarked, I ...Read Blog »

Thank You Jesus for another day!!!!In the middle of all the work of the ministry, I have been struggling with the Prospectus for my Doctor of Ministry Project. I have a heart for missions, and I would like to see all believers become personally involved through Short-Term Missions (STMs) projects. Our Service To God!

What another glorious day of life God has given me. Every day I celebrate and rejoice over the fact that God has called me to pastor a church. One thing I must always be cautious of is not to let my service to the Lord become routine or monotonous. That is so easy for me to do. Without even realizing it I can get into the habit of establishing a ...Read Blog »
The Fellowship of the Unashamed

Fellowship Of The Unashamed"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the ...Read Blog »

No Price Too High
Authored by boomervet on Fri, Jun 17 2005 - 11:48 AM
In my devotion this morning I read Romans 9:3, which says, For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers. Paul had such a burden for his lost Jewish brothers that he was willing to pay any price, even the losing of his own soul, to see them come to Christ. No price was too high to pay. The question ...Read Blog »

One of my church members sent this funny story to me about Pastoral Visitation and I thought I would share it with all who might need a laugh:A new pastor was out one day, visiting some of the people in his new church. He wanted to meet them and get to know them on a one to one basis. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no ...Read Blog »
Our Daily Privilege

Sometimes when I think about ministry and the awesome responsibility that comes with it, I get overwhelmed. I am not just talking about the job of being a pastor. I am talking about the responsibility that belongs to each and every one of us. We are all called into the ministry, just in different arenas. When you think of the lost people in this ...Read Blog »
Revival, "Yes," Meeting, "No"
Authored by boomervet on Wed, Jun 15 2005 - 06:28 PM
As I continue to think about next year and how FBC Pearl City might have an impact on our community, the word "Revival" keeps coming to mind. By that I mean an encounter with the living God that will change our lives in such a way that people will see the reality of our faith. I don't want just a two, three, four, or five day meeting. ...Read Blog »

My computer is about to die! It has been a good machine and has fought the good fight, but like everything else it has succumbed to old age.I want to try and put down a few thoughts before it takes it's last breath. Tonight I have been praying and asking God for His direction for FBC Pearl City for the year 2006. So many thoughts crossed my mind ...Read Blog »

I never thought it would happen, but I had my first golf lesson yesterday. For years I have been saying that golf was not something I would ever do. There has been a lot of talk over the past couple of months about "values" and I am afraid that many of those who are involved in the discussions haven't got a clue as to what the term really means. In yesterday's sermon I was preaching from Matthew 5:43-48, and talking about the love we should have for all people, even those we desire to have no relationship with. One of the great pleasures I receive from being in the ministry is when God begins to lay upon your heart a vision to reach people with the Gospel that you haven't reached before. Before going to the office on Wednesday mornings, I go to Starbucks for that weekly special treat of a cup of their featured coffee of the day and a bannana-nut muffin. ...Read Blog »
An Exciting Time of Bible Study

We had a great Bible study last night. It is exciting to study the prophets of the Old Testament and to see how some of their prophecies have already been fulfilled and discuss the ones which are still to come. Studying God's Word gives me an energy that is beyond description. My prayer is that all Christians will develop a longing for His Word. ...Read Blog »
